Founded by Dr. Yousef Elyaman an international speaker and practitioner of functional medicine with over 14 years of experience, FMP Essentials students includes physicians, nurse practitioners, naturopathic doctors, chiropractors, nutritionists and other allied healthcare professionals who are committed to advancing their knowledge in the integrative and functional medicine space.

Our Mission
The mission of FMP Essentials is to provide quality educational resources that equip healthcare providers with the information they need for better clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. In addition to online courses such as our Comprehensive Course in Functional Medicine, we also offer workshops at various locations around the country that focus on topics such as mind-body medicine, microbiome functioning, nutrition science and more. We have developed relationships with renowned specialists from around the globe so that our members can benefit from their expertise too.
Our Founder
Dr. Yousef Elyaman is a highly accomplished and credentialed physician, with an impressive academic background that includes board certification in Internal Medicine and a cross-specialization in Pediatrics. Additionally, he holds board certification in Integrative Medicine from the American Board of Physician Specialties. Moreover, Dr. Elyaman is one of the first graduates of The Institute for Functional Medicine, where he earned his certification in Functional Medicine. His expertise also extends to psychological trauma where holds certification from Spirit2Spirit Healing.
As the founder and Medical Director of Absolute Health located in Ocala, Florida, Dr. Elyaman has implemented a successful functional medicine approach to insurance-based primary care with a team that includes doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and lifestyle educators. He also serves as Integrative & Functional Medicine Director of The Guest House, an esteemed trauma and substance abuse center in Ocala, Florida. Since 2020 he has been part of the executive board of the Marion County Medical Society, where he currently serves as secretary-treasurer, transitioning soon to the role of president-elect.
Dr. Elyaman’s expertise in integrative and functional medicine are evidenced by being on the teaching faculty team at the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). In his role there he lectures on their Cardiometabolic Advanced Practice Module; this experience leads him to speak at various organizations such as A4M (American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine) and Quest Diagnostics to mention a few. His commitment to knowledge sharing is further demonstrated by his leadership of “Functional Medicine Practitioners Forum” – a widely popular Facebook group with active engagement from medical professionals around the world.Â
These accomplishments make Dr. Elyaman one of the most experienced voices in functional and integrative medicine today; his knowledge is sought out for its ability to combine cutting-edge research with evidence-backed clinical application that can be used effectively in real-world patient case scenarios.
